In short, it's a fun little 3D fully capable game that'll keep you entertained for a bit, but you won't want to go back to it.
Kid Icarus Uprising was an experiment for the 3DS, before I bought it I thought it was a 'must have', but it really isn't so spend your money on something else.
Set in a world that's now in chaos because of the evil Medusa, you play as Pitt with his godess watching over his back. Every first half of every level you do has a flight section, where you are given Icarus' wings in order to fly your way to your destination and slaying every demon/monster in your way. The second half introduces melee combat where you will be free roaming (Or dashing) everywhere in a set path to each levels' boss/finish.
The controls aren't too easy to get used to if you have a 3DS XL like me because you have to hold the console in one hand, stylus in the other to look around so it can be a bit awkward at times! The looking around is what's unique though, the bottom screen acts as a globe that you have to spin to look in that direction, so if you want it to stop you have to hold the stylus. There are a variety of weapons to go through depending on your playstyle (Melee or ranged), whether you like the sound of claws, bows or gunblade style weapons all are available and unlockable as you progress!
My main problem with Kid Icarus, and yet another 3DS game is that it's too short! I really liked playing this to chill or just wanted something light-hearted to play because it's not too serious and has some funny/constant dialogue so you can have a laugh while dashing enemies out of the way. I probably finished it in around 7 hours, trying to get through the game almost as fast as possible to see if was worthy keeping my attention. I was just hoping that the £39.99 I spent on it was worth the time, but it wasn't.
You get a couple of things in the box to keep you playing after or extending play-time, a stand (Depending on what edition you got) and some AR (Augmented Reality) cards to unlock some extra gear if you scan them, pretty cool.
Pros:
- Fun gameplay.
- Lovely colours and relatively good graphics.
- I like the stand that you get with it, because the XL's don't get a dock.
- Good idea with the weapons, everyone likes unlocking and getting new gear!
- The AR cards are cool.
Cons:
- Wanted more play time! Seriously, I can't wait for Animal Crossing because that £40 is going to give me more hours than all the games in the Halo series combined!
- Even though it's a Nintendo game, aimed at kids to young adults, it felt a little too childish at times.
My Rating:
6/10
We were all hoping Halo 4 would be the best one in the series so far, it came close with it's graphics, story and multiplayer, but it's still no Bungie game.
When Halo was taken over by 343 Industries I think Halo lost it's buzz, it's still awesome don't get me wrong, but it needs that constant dedication and it's missing something vital to make it perfect. Being a fan of the series this wasn't my favourite.
It's a first person shooter just as all the others before were, set on a forerunner planet Requiem taken place not too long after the events of Halo 3. You play as the Master Chief once more, with Cortana going rampant throughout the game (After 7 years AI's practically over-think themselves to death slowly), Chief is awoken from cryostasis in a freighter Chief landed on at the end of Halo 3. On this alien planet is a race called the Promethians, an evolved species of the past forerunners. The story is set with Chief and Cortana to save the ship Infinity that crash lands on Requiem.
Multiplayer is fun, not really like the others as you will set your own loadouts for each game type, quite fun to explore and earn. You will get a variety of new guns to play with and some awesome armour to earn in your Spartan IV multiplayer career. When you reach level 50 you will unlock a specialisation, which will begin your new 10 level spec in which by the end you will earn 'special' armour, visor colour and an armour enhancement eg. Rouge - You can shoot with reduced screen wobble when being shot at. etc.
Halo 4 doesn't include a firefight mode like ODST, but matching that game-type with Infinity Spartan Ops, a series of episodes released weekly where you will fight through enemies on your own or with buddies. Each 20 minute episode is accompanied with 5 missions to blast through.
Pros:
- Great story.
- Stunning graphics.
- New and old guns.
- Enhanced multiplayer with decent maps.
- Halo waypoint linked to the game which will give you bonuses.
- Achievable achievements. It may take a while but you'll eventually get them all!
Cons:
- The campaign is only 4 hours long.
- Spartan Ops can be incredibly repetitive, the same style old missions every episode.
- Multiplayer games can also be repetitive, as gamers keep going for the same 'big' guns and vehicles. Takes away the skill and fun.
- It needs like what Halo 3 did, and have some themed double exp. weekends eg. Zombies weekend on Halloween.
Once you think you've finished it, there's nothing to keep you playing. If the campaign was longer and multiplayer was mixed up more often, I would keep going back to Halo 4. I think people were just expecting too much from the newly formed 343 industries taking over Halo. Bungie will always be remembered for the true Halo games.

With an extremely well told story, unique character designs, good music, great voice acting and a load of decisions to be made, Telltale Games have made one incredible game.
It is a point and click style game, but you get to roam around with the analogue too exploring the areas and finding objects. The whole game is set in the states based around Lee Everett, 37 year old university teacher on his way to jail, and an 8 year old girl Clementine in search of her parents.
Told in 5 game episodes, roughly 2-3 hours each on PS3, 360 and Steam, you can buy each one separately or go for the season pass (Including all 5 at a discounted price) which is a great deal. The Walking Dead interests you in it's first episode with a taster of what the game plays like and what you'd want to expect from an amazing game. By the end of episode 1 or during episode 2 you will be hooked. You'll be confidently in charge of a group, caring for Clementine while you look for her parents, making big decisions and knocking in zombies brains on the way! There's so much to do and a perfect amount of action-story ratio that this is one 'must play' you'll have to experience.
Pros:
- Great value for money.
- You get hooked. Gripping story.
- Cringing action sequences (Trust me, in a zombie apocalypse game, it needs this.)
- Decisions you make actually count.
- Realistic events.
- Decent character designs. Some you want to hug, some you like, the rest you want to punch.
- Great music. A bit emotional though.
Cons:
- Menu's a bit glitchy. The game's only downfall, and even this doesn't happen to everyone. When we want to load up the next episode, it loads the first again so we have to copy to another save slot, delete the last then continue.
